Every year, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness ( ISKCON) conducts various competitions for school children on the occasion of Krishna Janmasthami and students of Little Angels participate in these competitions with lot of enthusiasm and zeal. This year, students have participated and won the First Prize in the ISKCON Classical Dance Competition. This is a remarkable achievement for our school and a testament to the hard work and talent of our students and teachers.
This event was aimed to promote the appreciation and practice of classical Indian dance forms among young people as part of their cultural outreach program. The competition attracted many schools from across the city, and featured various classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Kuchipudi.
Our school students performed Kathak dance form, which is one of the oldest and most popular classical dance forms in India. It is known for its grace, elegance, and expressiveness. Our students performed a group dance based on the theme of "Krishna Leela", which depicts the playful and divine aspects of Lord Krishna. They impressed the judges and the audience with their flawless synchronization, intricate footwork, and expressive gestures.
We are proud to announce that our school dance team was the only one in the competition to showcase the Kathak dance style, which is known for its intricate footwork, expressive gestures and storytelling through dance at this prestigious event that celebrates the rich and diverse traditions of Indian classical dances.
