Pongal and Lohri Celebrations


The greatness of a culture is found in its festivals. To make the children aware about our rich Indian culture and tradition our Little Angels School was decked up with fervor and enthusiasm.

 

This festivity was to celebrate the theme 'Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat '. Under this theme the school geared up with many events for Pongal and Lohri. All the students from KG to class 10 were in the best traditional attire which depicted the two states Andhra Pradesh and Punjab.

 

The school looked vibrant and colourful. The stage was set up with colourful kites, a display of toys, 'Bommalakoluvu' and also the traditional sarees and dresses from Andhra and Punjab were kept for display. The traditional food items of both the states like Bobbatlu, Boorelu , Pulihora, Garelu and many more from Andhra Pradesh and Missi roti , Sarson ka saag, Rabdi, Chole, Chikki etc from Punjab were also kept for display.

 

There was a huge participation of students from KG to class 10. They showcased their talent through dances from Andhra Pradesh and Punjab. The school choir sang melodious songs especially the mash up of both Andhra and Punjabi songs enthralled the audience. The 'Bhogi Pallu’ ritual was performed for the little kids of KG and they were blessed by the Academic Heads. The array of performances by the students were graced by the Principal Smt. Y. V. Indrani, the Vic-Principal Smt. Indu Malini and the Headmistress Smt. Rama Devi.

 

The program was highly appreciated by the parents and students. The students experienced different aspects of the festival. This event encouraged students to be open minded, tolerant and respectful towards each other, embrace differences and cherish similarities in their beliefs and culture.
