Students of Class 9 were taken to Andhra University for an Educational trip on 4/8/25(Monday).Students were taken to various Departments like Physics,Chemistry ,Geology and Marine Living Resources as per their interest.7 Teachers,I PET and 1Contingent staff accompanied the students in 5 Buses. Departments of Physics and Chemistry at Andhra University The visit proved to be highly engaging and insightful, offering students a unique opportunity to observe and interact with real-world applications of scientific concepts taught in class. The faculty and research scholars at the university warmly welcomed us and conducted various experiments and demonstrations in a simple and understandable manner. In the Physics department, students witnessed practical demonstrations related to electromagnetism, NMR labs, and the atomic spectra of elements such as zinc and sodium. In the Chemistry department, students were fascinated by the experiments, safety protocols, and lab procedures showcased by research scholars. On 4th August, we had the pleasure of accompanying our Class 9 students on an enriching educational trip to the Departments of Physics and Chemistry at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. The visit proved to be highly engaging and insightful, offering students a unique opportunity to observe and interact with real-world applications of scientific concepts taught in class. Geology Department at Andhra University: The visit was a valuable learning experience that provided deep insights into the field of geology. The session began with an engaging presentation by Sri Yugandhar Rao, who explained the establishment of Andhra University and the Geology Department. He discussed the formation and types of rocks, the importance of geology, and various career opportunities in the field through an informative PowerPoint presentation.Students also visited the geology museum, where they explored a wide collection of minerals, rocks, and crystal models. They learned about atomic mineral exploration, beach placers, and the significance of Vizag beach black sand. The museum visit offered a hands-on, visual learning experience that captivated the students’ interest. The visit further emphasized the practical applications of geology in areas like construction, resource management, and environmental monitoring. Students also gained knowledge about the use of natural materials such as stones, sand, and clay in building. Overall, the trip was highly educational and memorable, helping students connect textbook knowledge with real-world geological practices. Department of Marine Living Resources The visit proved to be highly informative and engaging, offering the students an opportunity to explore fascinating aspects of marine life and coastal ecosystems. Mr.Ramachandra Ganesh Asst.Professor being the resource person delivered an insightful session, explaining concepts such as bioluminescence, types of coastal areas, and different seas and beaches. The students also learned about marine biolites, various marine animals, oysters, seashells, and corals—understanding that corals are composed of calcium carbonate was particularly noteworthy. He patiently clarified the students’ doubts and demonstrated the use of different equipment, mechanisms, and procedures employed in marine research. Interesting facts were also shared, such as 61% of the oceans being located in the Northern Hemisphere and 81% in the Southern Hemisphere. The session further covered the skeletal and muscular systems of fish, symbiotic relationships in the ocean, and the ecological roles of moss and algae in maintaining marine balance. Students gained insights into mangroves—their formation, ecological importance, and locations—as well as coralline coasts, such as those found in the Andaman Islands. Overall, the trip was a great success, providing the students with valuable knowledge about marine biodiversity, ocean conservation, and coastal ecosystems. It was an enriching and memorable experience for all. |
