WORLD FAIRY TALE DAY

“Fairy tales are more than true, not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us dragons can be beaten.” - G.K.Chesterton

English Club ‘Alphabet’ celebrated ‘World Fairy Tales Day’ on 25th February with lot of zeal and jubilation. It is a spectacular occasion to bring out the child in us and have a happy day while escaping from the evils of the world. The day instigates everyone to commemorate the event by reading, telling and listening to Fairy Tales around the world.

The programme began with a short prayer. An article on ‘Hans Christian Andersen’, a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels and poems was presented in the assembly. He is best remembered for his literary fairy tales.

A dazzling group dance was presented by the students of the primary and secondary wings. The fairy tale ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ was narrated by a student. Students also presented monologues from the famous Fairy Tales-  ‘ Cinderella’, ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ and ‘Jack and the Bean Stalk.’

Principal Smt.Visalakshi in her message advised the students to read a lot of books in order to improve their vocabulary and communication skills. She also urged the students to read ‘Fairy Tales’, as they not only refresh our memories but also they keep our hopes alive and transport us to a magical world.
