ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY

Energy saved is Energy generated

Little Angels School organised an awareness programme on the occasion of ‘National Energy Conservation Day’ for the students of classes 6 and 7 in the school. As a part of the programme a power point presentation was given by Mrs. Priyanka Rajpoot (Deputy Manager-Environment Management Department) of Vizag Steel Plant. The main objection of the presentation was to apply the concept of energy efficiency in day-to-day life in order to save money and energy and thereby protect the environment. National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated on 14th December in India to highlight the importance of energy consumption and its uses in our daily life. It is a day for building awareness on the need for energy conservation, energy efficiency and carefulness in energy use.

Mrs. Priyanka held a very interactive session by involving the students in answering the questions and encouraged them to express their doubts related to energy conservation. She discussed about the energy resources and explained the difference between energy conservation and efficiency with many examples. She spoke to students about measures which should be implemented in the school by students to conserve energy.

Mrs. Priyanka shared with students how RINL has implemented various measures in making the company energy efficient and has won the ‘National Energy Leader’ award consecutively for five years.

The session ended by students taking a pledge in Hindi as well as English languages. Students took the pledge to emphasize the role of each one to create an impact on the environment and save our mother Earth by adopting various eco-friendly measures of conserving energy.
