VANAMAHOTSAVA CELEBRATIONS


“Save tree, Save environment”.

As a part of Vanamahotsava celebrations members of Little Greens club of the school planned a four-day programme from 08.07.19 to 11.07.19.

On 08.07.19 Shri F.K.Lakra (General Manager) Town Administration, Department, RINL and Shri A.Murali Mohan (Assistant General Manager) Agro Forestry Department, RINL were invited as the chief guests for the inauguration programme.

Students of classes 3rd to 7th presented a foot – tapping dance on the importance of trees. The Director of the school, Smt M.Ranganayaki presented a brief report on the green activities conducted by the members of the Little Greens Club in the school over the years.

Shri F.K.Lakra (General Manager) Town administration Department and Shri A.Murali Mohan (Assistant General Manager) Agro Forestry Department addressed the children and promised to allocate separate area for plantation in the township and saplings to plant in the school premises and in the area to be allotted.

They spoke on the importance of Vanamahotsava and appreciated children for their efforts in conducting various green activities in the school and in the nearby community.

Crotons were planted in the pots by Shri F.K.Lakra, Shri A.M.Mohan, School Director Smt M.Ranganayaki, Principal Smt P.S.Visalakshi and Head Mistress Smt Arundathi in the school premises.

Self-Watering system in pots was inaugurated by Shri F.K.Lakra. Water conservation and the principle of reuse is the motto behind this system.

Plantation programme in the nearby community, Green donor day- wherein children will be donating saplings to the school and poetry writing competition on “Trees- the green caps of the planet” are the activities that will be conducted in the next consecutive three days.
